Live Sound Check: Background Vocals
Background vocals are not that important for the mix, all they basically do is fill up the mix and if they are off it will sound horrible, especially if when mixed with the main vocals. Having two same type of sounds with one being off is usually worse than two different types of instruments. But if the background singers are good they will help get a very professional sound.
So the first thing you need to check during the soundcheck is: how good are the background singer? Next check this:
