D’Addario performing artists roster expands with addition of several high-profile musicianJ. D’Addario & Company, Inc. has announced the addition of several world-class guitarists and bassists to its Performing Artists roster. The newest class of D’Addario artist/endorsees includes: Matt Roberts (guitar), Chris Henderson (guitar) and Todd Harrell (bass) of Three Doors Down; Frank Salvaggio (bass) and Kevin Jardine (guitar) of the band Slaves on Dope; Brad Delson (guitar) and Dave Farrell (bass) of Warner Bros. recording act Linkin Park; Ryan Schuck (guitar), Amir Derakh (guitar) and Paige Haley (bass) of the band Orgy; and singer/songwriter David Gray."Having artists such as these join the D’Addario team is a tremendous honor for us, and it sends a powerful message to the music industry about the quality of our products," says D’Addario Brand Manager Peter D’Addario. "We design our products for musicians, and gaining the endorsements of such young, up-and-coming, top-flight musicians is very exciting." Republic/Universal Records artists 3 Doors Down debuted this year with the chart topping album The Better Life. The album has put the band in the spotlight selling four million copies and scoring two number one singles: "Loser" and "Kryptonite." The group recently performed live at the 2000 Billboard Music Awards in December and is currently on tour in Europe with plans to come back to the U.S. early 2001. Guitarists Roberts and Henderson use D’Addario’s EX115s, EJ21 electric guitar strings and EJ16 acoustic strings, while bassist Harrell chooses EXL170 bass strings to bring the beefy sound and explosive dynamics of 3 Doors Down alive. Slaves on Dope is the first act signed to the newly formed Divine Recordings label, run by Sharon Osbourne, the "Queen of Heavy Rock." The band is currently on the road in support of its debut release, "Inches from the Mainline," and the band spent the summer dazzling crowds from the Ozzfest’s second stage. Salvaggio provides the band’s bottom-end thunder with D’Addario Prism Stainless Steel Round Wounds, while Jardine deals on the high end with custom-gauged XL Nickel Round Wounds. Both are also fans of Planet Waves straps and string winders; in fact they never leave home without them! As part of the California band Linkin Park, Delson and Farrell blend aggressive hard rock with hip-hop vocals and electronic flourishes. Their hit, "One Step Closer" can be heard on radio stations across the nation, and the band is currently on tour with P.O.D. and Hed (also D’Addario Performing Artists). Delson uses EXL110 and EXL110-7s, and Farrell’s strings of choice are Prism PSS60s and PSS60-5s. Schuck, Derakh and Haley are on the road with Orgy, as the band’s second release, "Vapor Transmission," is a masterpiece of electronic metal. Schuck uses custom-gauged XLs on his seven-string, Derakh uses EJ22s, and Haley’s bass rumbles with EXL170-5s. The band is also digging its new Planet Waves cables and straps. Gray is the first artist signed to ATO Records, an independent label formed by Dave Matthews. His latest recording, "White Ladder," has received rave reviews from critics and fans, and features the single "Babylon."
