What we learned in the previous pages was that a scale is basically a group of notes that have no other relation to each other then that they are given a name.
The C major scale is one of the most important scales to start learning because it has no sharps or flats, and is very easy to play on most instruments like piano (simply play all the white keys). The official name of the major scale is Ionian, and belongs to the group of the church scales.
